Info zum Törn:

The RYA Cruising Instructor Course is for experienced RYA Yachtmaster™ Offshore skippers to be able to gain the skills required to instruct practical courses up to the level of RYA Day Skipper.

The first step in teaching within the practical cruising scheme is to become qualified as an RYA Cruising Instructor, before moving up to the Yachtmaster Instructor qualification. Both qualifications can be taken in sail and motor cruisers, and the certificate will be endorsed accordingly.

Due to the short time available on the instructor course, there is limited opportunity to fill any gaps in knowledge. The course is a blend of assessing the candidate's knowledge, providing a structured framework to instruct, coach, observe and deliver constructive feedback, and ensure the structure and standards required of RYA courses are understood. Candidates must therefore ensure they have sufficient underpinning knowledge prior to attending.

Törnart:
RYA Yachtmaster Offshore
Candidates will be trained with the aim to demonstrate knowledge or competence in a complete leadership on a cruising yacht. They should be able to lead a crew and a cruising yacht safely, also in very demanding situations.
The course starts with a training of these skills under the lead of a skipper CCS and certified RYA Yachtmaster Instructor. It ends with the official exam (fee to be paid to RYA) under the lead and observation of an RYA-Examiner.
Successful candidates will obtain the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Certificate Offshore Sail and can get a commercial endorsement.
Pre-requisites :
- 2500 miles (at least 50% in tidal waters)
- 50 days at sea (5 days experience as skipper)
- 5 passages over 60 miles (2 as skipper, 2 with overnight sailing)
- Short Range Certificate or higher grade of GMDSS marine radio certificate
- RYA accepted valid First Aid Certificate
